Ma Jaya has always been advocate for the glbt community, and mentions 'my gay and lesbian children, and everyone in between' in almost every public darshan that she gives. Here is an ongoing archive of excerpts from darshans that Ma has given about glbt issues.
Ma's Daily Blog: December 9, 2009 - The Merge Of Masculine and Feminine
Namaste,
Here is today's question from Janaka Jaya:
“In Kali Natha Yoga you talk about the merge of the masculine and the feminine. Can you explain the importance of that merge, and also describe how we go about creating it?
Answer:
There were numerous sages, rishis, and holy people who recorded their spiritual experiences since the beginning of time in one way or another.
Many of them explained that the Soul has no gender.
This indicates that masculine and feminine merge fully when one is on the path; when they reach the presence or vibration of God or Goddess, there is only the One - who is reality.
Thus life was and can be now quite simple, void of any kind of bigotry.
Children who develop hatred toward any kind of homosexuality have learned it on the knees of their parents.
They sometimes carry this lifetime after lifetime.
Yet in a single second, one can flip into the Light of understanding The One who is neither male nor female.
This allows an open path toward Samadhi.
It is as if all color is sleeping; yet when the heart is open, one begins to realize that the rainbow of color is not male or female.
It is as if color has a path of its own.
And you find yourself inside of all color, all genders, all races, and all religions when there is understanding of the genders.
This represents freedom.
Once you have tasted this freedom, you live the life of vision.
You ask how one goes about creating the merge of male and female.
The vibration of the entire physical worlds consists of waves of acceptance; thus the male and female embrace as one.
It is always there, and there is nothing that you have to do.
If you miss the different wave lengths of Oneness, you will find yourself hungry for the truth.
You do not know on the surface of life that we are all without gender when we are only Soul.
Something in the knowing begins to feel right in the space of the spiritual heart.
This is an existence of the merge, and without it one loses balance like a world without color or music.
When you being to understand that this merge is always reaching toward you, then in future life you will reach for the merge and understand that it always has been.
There is music in this merge of understanding and knowing.
When there is one part of the body more established in the feminine, a male may be afraid of his own feminine features, feelings, and instincts.
It is the same when one part of the body is more established in the masculine; females will try to hide their own masculinity.
Yet when the heart is open, the two merge together; one becomes perfectly balanced, without fear.
So my answer is not to fear who you are, but embrace it all - for it all embraces you.
Once you taste the merge, the idea of it will never leave you; it will be part of your being, and you won’t need to go through the suffering of not knowing your own identity.
This knowing becomes part of you in the form of Shakti.
You can feel the knowing in your own power.
If you do not understand my answer, I promise you it will come.
Read my answer over and over and see if it makes sense to you.
You cannot lose what your Soul knows you have.
Therefore, the knowing of the merge is always with you, and your instincts will show you the way to understand this.
Be free in your life, void of bigotry or prejudices.
I love you all so very much.
Love,
Ma Jaya

Excerpt from Kashi Darshan Line: November 5, 2008 (the day after California voted against gay marriages)
My gay children do not lose heart, I promise you that change will happen in a world gone blind when it comes to my gay children’s life.
I bless all your marriages again and again and then again.
You are not alone and I will not rest for one second until all can see the beauty of my children. All children every where.
I love you guys and gals and all those inbetween more than you can ever know and I will fight by your side as your proud Ma.
The many letters of hope lit up my computer this last month. They have kept me going and praying and doing pujas.
Hang on my beautiful gays, my men and woman who dare to be different, you are not different you are just following your heart and your Ma.
History will continue being made, I promise you.
Love, Ma
Kashi Darshan Line: May 16, 2008
Namaste My Chelas all over the world,
Yesterday my chelas celebrated the right that was given to gays to marry in California.
I, too, celebrated with great joy and with tears running down my face.
Yet I thought as I prayed for all peoples to have freedom, that what was given to my children is what they already should have.
Being able to marry for love is a birthright, not a right that government can give them.
I am thrilled to be able to say that all who are gay and lesbian and everyone in between, and everyone who is so divinely diverse, can be with their loved ones.
Yet I cannot help but think that this is not something that can be given by humans; it is something that God and Goddess already gave.
But I do rejoice, because perhaps this is a beginning -a beginning of recognizing the beauty of marriage of love that is not based on gender.
So let us celebrate together, and smile together, and dance together.
Yet let us always fight for the rights of every human being, no matter what race, religion, no religion, or gender.
It is not about gays being able to marry in California and in other states.
It is the matter of the hearts of all who love and want to be with their loved one.
And for this I am grateful: that I am the Mother of so many who will eventually have this right, any place, anywhere, anytime.
I love our life of interfaith and our life of non prejudice.
The beauty of Mother Kashi is that She is so delighted with the Cosmos’ constant show of love for all peoples.
I love our Baba, who loves all.
I love our Swami Nityananda, who says in the Chidakash that the Soul Has No Gender.
My Baba, let everyone experience love for love’s sake: love that keeps giving and never stops to see who takes.
Love that jumps over no one.
Love that places its hands on every human being and animal in the world.
I love to love.
Please, my Baba, allow the people of the world to stretch their hearts and understand it is the law of the Gods and Goddesses that truly counts.
Yet today I celebrate with all of you.
The beauty of this teaching is that I have received so many letters from my straight children crying in happiness for my gays.
Forget the labels. Love my children.
I love you all so very much.
Take this love deep into your heart and never, ever let it go.
This is my puja, and this is my prayer.
Love,
Ma Jaya
Kashi Darshan Line, 1/11/05
Namaste my chelas all over the world,
Your Ma has written that God has no gender and has the freedom of diversity.
When you are in the full light of God and Goddess, you truly have no gender; therefore, there is no prejudice or bigotry in your life.
There is such a freedom of diversity simply because there are no boundaries.
Thick boundaries are the dark lines that keep one in the Karmic Spaces of Duality.
In the beginning days of my Teaching, and way before that, I had the awareness to understand that the Soul kept no gender and had no gender to keep.
My own Swami Nityanada speaks of this in His original book of the Chidakasha Gita.
And so your Ma went into shock when I saw and heard so much prejudice against Gays, Lesbians and all who are in between.
Instead of understanding and accepting others no matter what their sexual orientation, so many spiritual leaders have blasted them and continue to lock their church doors to this community.
And so your Ma picked up the sword and will never, ever, put it down until all peoples of the world are treated the same.
Interfaith teaching is not just about the different religions; it is about the diversity and the beauty of knowing all the different paths of life.
Homosexuality is not a choice of human beings; it is the choice of God and Goddess.
I will fight for the right of my gay children all of my life and then from my own death.
For this is the way so many labels are formed and so many groups are feeling the pain of bigotry.
I have blessed and will continue to bless the marriages of so many of my children who are gay, and in doing this I shall bless the world of diversity.
My Pujas and Prayers go out to my Beloved Mother Ganga, who is my life's flow of non-duality.
I ask the flowing Mother to bring peace to all my children's hearts and to all peoples of the world.
This is my Puja and this is my Prayer.
I love you all so very much.
Love, Ma Jaya
Kashi Darshan Line, 3/22/04
I have this Sacred Book that was in our Swami Nityananda's hands. On page 35 and 36 of The Sacred Chidakash Geetha (Atma Prabhav) paragraph 61 it says:
“THIS DISTINCTION OF MALE AND FEMALE IS EXTERNAL ONLY.
INTERNALLY SUCH A DISTINCTION DOES NOT EXIST AT ALL"
So, to all the homophobic people out there, put that in your pipes and smoke it (that’s a Brooklyn expression)!
My chelas, hate has no place in any SPIRITUAL TEACHING.
Is it not a shame that your Ma is still screaming out to the spiritual leaders to open their doors to their places of worship to all peoples?
Kashi Darshan Line, 2/5/04
When I heard on the news the story that gay marriages will be accepted in Massachusetts it made this Ma scream out in joy. It is the small victories that lead to the large celebrations in our lives.
Often you have heard your Ma say that I am the mother of thousands and thousands of gay and lesbian children and every one in between, for years and years, 31 years to be exact.
I write something that our Swami Nityananda writes about in his original Chidakash Gita. The Soul Has No Gender. I saw these words and they remain in my heart.
There are so many ways of gay bashing and I am very protective of my children. God and goddess does not make mistakes and if you were born gay then this is just the way god and goddess wants you to be. Enter the light as you are. I have been teaching this now very intensely in a very profound and deep meditation, where one has to visualize themselves as they are this moment, however they look, or however old, or however they are shaped, or if they are sick or well. Be in the moment as you are this moment, and then you will see that any negativity will begin to drip off of you into a crevice of the world.
There is male and female in every one of us and the merge of Shiva-Shakti is the sun and moon coming together both in the heart of earth Mother inside of us and over the head.
Our Baba always said, “Never throw any one out of your heart” and “Feed everyone”. He did not say feed only those who are straight.
Perhaps, this Ma is getting on in years and has seen so much. The destruction of body and heart during the AIDS epidemic and my children grasping for life and then death that I do not know how I am alive this moment after so much pain in the hearts of family and friends and gurubais.
Thirty-one years ago I told my Acharya Durga Das and my Yoga Acharya Laxman Das that the soul has no gender, only love, and that they should live in the light of this love, be aware, and not react to the small minds who judge them.
Does acceptance make children gay or straight?
Not at all - either they are gay or they are not.
I just pray that in my lifetime we will be able to drop all labels.
I love you all, each and every one of you.
Love each other and take care of each other and bring love to a world that is in such need of caring for each other that labels have no place whatsoever.
Congratulations on all those who will be able to get married legally in Massachusetts.
I bless you all in the great light of our Baba Neem Karoli.
And thank you for this completely safe haven we call Kashi.
Love Ma

Om Ganesha,
Morning Pujas and Prayers
Namaste my chelas all over the world.
I am asking a special prayer for all my Gay and Lesbian Children and every one in between.
I am asking the Mother MATANGI THE MOTHER OF DIVERSITY to take any shame from my children. It is not theirs to start with.
I am asking for my children to understand that if THE GODDESS WANTED TO MAKE THEM STRAIGHT SHE WOULD HAVE DONE SO.
I am asking that all guilt be taken from my gay childrens heart and please Mother Matangi allow them to know their beauty and that their Ma is always there for them.
I write these words with tears streaming down my face.
I have been told of the rise in bigotry and prejudice and have witnessed it my self.
Please my children, all my children help make our Kashi Rainbow a living and breathing entity that will make it so much easier for young folks who are gay not to have to wither away in the closet.
All my children let us bring a new unity to the way of love, sharing the joy of diversity.
All children and babies young adults and old folks have the right to live happy full lives, yet all different and all loved.
I am so tired of the SO CALLED RIGHT JUDGING MY CHILDREN.
All of you know that you are the Mother's Heart, what ever your religion or faith or path or nationality or race or sexual orientation.
You are the child of the Gods and Goddesses.
That said, we must all watch out for each other.
Namaste, Ma
