Ma Jaya teaches from a depth of wisdom and practicality which allows us to return again and again to turn over the words, and bring them into our moment. Ma is a consummate story teller, using words to paint a picture or illustrate a point that otherwise might be hard to grasp. These stories are often simple but profound, similar to the way that Swami Nityananda and Neem Karoli Baba taught.

TARA - LADY OF THE STARSAll of you have within you a star that must be given birth to. It is like the movie “A Star Is Born.” At your birth, you are born with a star of the Mother’s heart waiting to emerge. It is only when you acknowledge this star that the Mother Tara can come to you and prepare you for death of the ego.
Tara is devoted to the stars. She is the one you should ask to let your own Mother’s star shine through your self-doubt and pettiness. You cannot help but feel protected and loved by the Red, Fierce Tara whose fangs eat evil before it can come near Her children. She is ferocious when it comes to Her chela’s lives. This wonderful Hindu and Buddhist Tara wears human heads and has been known to defeat Maya (illusion) in battle after battle. She is the great and wonderful sister of Mother Kali. Praise all forms of God, and know the formless.
This Mother will come to you if you call Her when the first star rises in the sky. Do not take the stars for granted. Do not take the sunrise and sunsets for granted. Do not take the moon and the sun or the life you were given for granted.
It is the Mother Tara who taught me to be with all my chelas at the same time. Is this not a great deal of food for thought? My words drip with the juice of the Mother Kali and the Mother Tara. She who pounds the earth with her delicate, strong feet is indeed my Mother. Chela, chela, look toward the stars and feel the delight of being Tara’s child. Wake up early in the new morning tomorrow and see the stars and feel the Mother. Perhaps you will be so filled with the Divine Form of the Mother that you will slip into the formless.
Oh my Mother Tara, Lady of the Stars, you are the tears of the Buddha’s compassionate heart. Take my children to the formless and watch over them for their Ma.
With love, Ma Jaya Kashi Ashram
