DISCRIMINATION

Discrimination is the ability to realize the world’s duality and illusion while seeing the deeper oneness of unchanging truth. Discrimination is the essence in the eye born from awareness. When you begin to be aware from watching and feeling your breath, there is a certain sense of knowing. When you watch the breath, the breath watches you. Words of pain and hurt can’t be spoken, for they are on a lesser level; the breath is deeper than the desire to hurt. Every part of your life has this awareness in it. Before you speak to hurt or get revenge, you will stop yourself. The awareness of someone else’s pain comes right up in your face; at that moment, discrimination is born.

If you look to see if your actions hurt another, you are using subtle discrimination. Subtle discrimination is using the ability to hesitate. Acting out with non-thought is the opposite of subtle discrimination. Once you are drenched in serving others, subtle discrimination bursts forth. There is nothing you need to be but who you are. Allow the non-hesitation of the gentle river to flow through you. It is something that is already there. It is not arrogance; it is a joy in knowing you can do this.
