SURRENDER

There are three levels of surrender. The first is the honeymoon period, when you meet your Beloved teacher or find your path. The second is when the honeymoon is over and you are faced with reality. The third period is when you are totally surrendered to who you are. You see yourself as you are, however you are in the moment – old, sick, or anything there is about you. You surrender to the beauty of you. Here you can look at and truly witness yourself. You can’t color it pretty; you color it as it is. That is the third surrender: self love and love for the Guru. You must love yourself as you are.

I thought going to God meant disappearing, giving up my personality. What am I going to be then? Am I going to be a boring person? I don’t want to be that. But no, you have a uniqueness that is your beauty and you don’t give that up. You only give up that which will hurt you. It is not so much that you give up; you surrender to the moment. You don’t surrender to the teacher. You don’t surrender to another person. You surrender internally to what you know is good. Then it all comes to you, and you’re left with that perfect uniqueness that separates you in a good way.

Deep within our souls is the feminine fire of humankind. We energize the feminine fire by being on a spiritual path of service to others. Creative growth comes from the feminine and the supreme surrender to She who is within. What is this divine mystery? It is simply to see everything in everyone. Live this moment without limitations. See all the different aspects of what is divinity. Enter into the arena of the heart, even if you do not feel you are open. Your life force must be used to enforce your own goodness instead of that which stifles you. Give yourself a chance to feel your commitment to be on the path that will take you to yourself. This is called the path of the highest surrender. There are so many ways to feel the power of God this moment, simply by watching your breath.
