HUMILITY

Looking at the spectrum of life, understanding the Karmic Spaces brings about the vitality of wisdom that brings about the vitality of humility. When humility runs through all eleven Karmic Spaces, it shrinks the ego. The sharpest of all weapons to defeat the ego is the sword of humility.

Humility must be asked for. The early dawn is the best time to ask your Beloved for the beauty of humility. Pride and anger can be removed slowly as humility sinks in. Humility has to be a body of being that we all work to get to. Humility does not mean that one should lie down and be stepped upon! Humility is to serve others in a child-like maturity. Ask for the beauty of humility and to be able to remember in the darkness the color of day.

The other time to ask for humility is at ‘cow dust time’, twilight, the threshold between day and night. It is the Mother Laxmi who also grants humility as well as prosperity and health. Patience and courage will bring you to the Mother. One must put in effort to receive the blessings of humility. The true beauty of your being blends with the beauty of each day as you bow with the thoughts of humility.

Be simple, and ask for humility.
Be kind, and ask for humility.
Be gentle, and ask for humility.
Be compassionate, and ask for humility.

When you are reverent, you are touching the feet of humility. Humility stills the body and the mind follows. Life is a whirlwind of color and chaos. When you still the mind, the breath becomes part of nature. This is a simple exercise to bring you more present in your body, a moment to find out what is happening now: listen for a sound, any sound around you that has always been there. Perhaps you just do not hear or have kept it a part of your life that you pay no attention to. Close your eyes and listen for a few minutes. When your eyes are open again, you will feel a new awareness. After doing this a few times, you will notice that becoming aware of different sounds will become spontaneous. This is also the art of developing reverence for the world around you. Listening to others and the heart of others is also a key to humility, which always leads one out of dark spaces, especially dark spaces of despair.
