In the Feed Everyone garden here at Sustainable Kashi, we grow dark leafy organic collard greens for the Riverfund, Inc. (The River Fund) This delicious alternative to processed food is very popular when the River Fund volunteers distribute food in Gifford, here locally.
From this small garden space, we donate roughly 350lbs of fresh, organic collard greens yearly to the program. The dark leafy collard greens are rich with protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, antioxidants, and so much more.
The River Fund was founded in 1990 with a mission to support the poor, those who often are alone and in need, and affirm all people, believing in the dignity of the individual. The River Fund is dedicated to providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to people living with life-threatening illnesses, to their loved ones, and to those in need.
Consider volunteering to help the community in your area!
