Ecstatic Dance: rhythms for the Solstice

With Rebeca Siplak.

“Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.” ~ Rumi

Please join us at Kashi Ashram for ecstatic dance inspired by the upcoming Summer Solstice, where Rebeca creates a space in which you can feel comfortable, safe and free to express yourself through your body to music. “This is a free form dance, you create the experience by how you engage with your body, with other dancers and with the music. There are no set moves, just be safe and kind to your body and respectful to those around you and most importantly - have fun. This is a great space to practice being unabashedly in your body.” from Sacred Circle Dance Community PDX

Rebeca offers an eclectic mix of World music, electronica, downtempo, pop, and oldies. Rebeca has over 30 years experience with expressive dance and has explored traditional forms of dance as well as Ecstatic, Nia, 5 Rhythms, Sweat Your Prayers and Alexander technique. Please join us for two healing hours of ecstatic movement!

We will have 30 minutes of warm-up music, followed by an hour and 15 minutes of dance music, after which there is a closing circle to share and integrate our experience. You can expect the music to start slowly, build in intensity and then move you back to a point of stillness at the end.

Please bring a bottle of water and wear loose, comfortable clothing. $30
