Radha met Ma in 1983. She taught in the River School and was the first person on the ashram to teach the kids about recycling. She loved Ma’s art which she collected so that her home was like a gallery.
Sita and Ma went way back to the early days in New York, and both growing up Jewish they had a lot in common. This was perhaps the edge that allowed Sita the boon that no one else ever got, of being able to impersonate Ma at our holiday festivities! She was a natural comic (as was Ma), and would have us all howling with laughter.
Kali Ma met Ma in California back in the day when she was a therapist. When she moved to Kashi, several of her clients moved with her! Kali Ma always had a kind word for anyone she saw. Her grandchildren attended The River School for many years. She was a fixture at Laxman House, helping with dinner preparation and doing her crosswords.
